Humidity Indicator Card

The Humidity Indicator Card (HICs) features moisture-sensitive spots which detect and change colour from blue to pink according to the humidity level in the surrounding environment, functioning as a visual alert that your product is exposed to unacceptably high humidity levels. Usually packed together with a moisture bag and desiccant, the HICs are a small, cost-effective, and easy-to-read device capable of providing reliable humidity readings. HICs are approved for MIL-I-8835 applications with the 30%, 40%, 50% HIC complying with the MS20003-2 standard, the 5%, 10%, 15% HICs complying with JEDEC Standard 033, and the 5%, 10%, – 60% HICs with JDEC Standard 033B. Humidity Indicator Cards are available in two different models, Cobalt Dichloride Free and Cobalt Free to suit different needs and applications.

Cobalt Dichloride Free

Cobalt Dichloride Free Humidity Indicator Cards (also known as blue humidity indicator card) are impregnated with a carefully mixed solution of cobalt chloride. This solution allows the card to detect and change colour from blue to pink once when that certain relative humidity level has been reached.

They are available in RH levels ranging from 5% to 60%.

Cobalt Free

Cobalt Free Humidity Indicator Cards (also known as brown humidity indicator card) have a copper chloride base that detects humidity and enables colour change from brown to azure (blue). These humidity sensor cards were developed to be free of cobalt chloride, making them safer to use. They are compliant with the European Community Council Directive 67/548/ECC.

They are available in RH levels ranging from 5% to 60%.
