The Condensation Terminator Sheet (CT Sheet) is a countermeasure solution used to prevent moisture damage in cargo and at the same time, measure the moisture damage in shipment.
Condensation occurs when water vapour in the container’s air turns into a liquid, rises, and condenses on the walls and roof of the container, forming water droplets. As the container walls are made from metallic materials that are great insulators of temperature, condensation occurs readily as the environment easily influences the temperature of the container. As condensation occurs frequently, the water droplets accumulate and become denser, eventually falling and dripping onto the surface of the goods. This results in packaging deterioration, corrosion, mild dew, moulding, and other damages caused by the water droplets occur if no action is taken. Further damage may occur within the packaging resulting in more significant losses.
The Condensation Terminator Sheet is a water-absorbing sheet that functions by catching condensation droplets from the walls of the container. Not only does the CT Sheet acts as a barrier to water droplets, but it is also durable and does not sag. Hence, water leakage will not happen even after absorbing a large amount of water.
The Condensation Terminator Sheet is an easy to use and cost-effective solution to prevent moisture damage in containers. No cleaning is required after each use, and it can be easily stored. Although it is applicable for a broad range of goods, performance may differ due to the cargo’s environmental conditions and physical properties.
The CT Sheet is designed with special hooks to be hooked to lashing rings and tied to lashing bars at the corners. The inner side and door side of the CT Sheet should be attached to the ceiling with adhesive tapes. The CT Sheet is also applicable in the following:
