Gusset Pouch

The Gusset Pouch is a widely applicable pouch incorporated with a special material known as “gusset”, providing the pouch with an increased volume and strengthened structure. It is available in two different versions, the Side Gusset Pouch – where gusset is added to the pouch side and the Bottom Gusset Pouch – where gusset is added to the bottom of the pouch.

Difference Between Side & Bottom Pouch

The Side Gusset Pouch is typically used to pack products such as coffee, tea, and snacks as the added gusset increases the volume, hence maximising storage capacity. This allows the pouch to be displayed vertically and horizontally, making it extremely flexible for an aesthetical display of products. On the other hand, the Bottom Gusset Pouch is one of the most common pouches in the industry. It can be further classified into three different types, Round Bottom, K-Seal, and Plow Bottom to suit different packaging applications. The Round Bottom is used to pack products that weigh less than 500 grams, whereas the K-Seal and Plow Bottom are used to pack products that weigh above 500 grams. The main difference between the K-Seal and Plow Bottom is that the Plow Bottom is typically used to pack compact products such as flour and sugar. Although both pouches serve different needs and applications, they can provide an ideal packaging solution for brands that require an attractive packaging format to suit their products.
