Activated Clay Desiccant, derived from a naturally porous mineral, undergoes a drying and treatment process to enhance its ability to absorb moisture, reaching up to 25% of its own weight. The desiccant’s moisture absorption ensures effective humidity control in a wide range of packaging environments.

High Moisture Absorption Capacity

Composed of 100% natural clay, it is non-toxic, biodegradable, and environmentally safe, aligning with green packaging initiatives. It is also free from chemical additives, making it a safe choice for food, pharmaceuticals, electronics, and other sensitive products.

When exposed to temperatures above 50ºC, the desiccant releases its stored moisture, allowing for regeneration and reuse, though this characteristic limits its use in higher-temperature environments. When reaching its moisture saturation point, its physical form remains unchanged, preserving its structural integrity and utility.

Our activated clay desiccants are manufactured to meet stringent quality international standards, delivering reliable application performance. We offer a comprehensive range of activated clay loose desiccants featuring diverse granule sizes and packaging options, including desiccant clay bags, drums, and pails, tailored to meet the specific moisture control needs of industrial applications, manufacturing processes, and large-scale storage.

Granule Size

  • Fine Granules: Typically less than 1 mm in diameter, fine granules are used in applications requiring a high surface area for moisture adsorption within small spaces or compact product designs.
  • Medium Granules: Ranging from 1 mm to 2.5 mm, medium granules are versatile and used in a wide range of applications, offering a balance between moisture adsorption efficiency and physical stability.
  • Coarse Granules: Larger than 2.5 mm, coarse granules are suitable for bulk applications where rapid moisture adsorption is needed, and the granule size prevents dusting and dispersal.

Packaging Options

  • Bulk Bags: Large, flexible containers capable of holding from 100 kg to 1,000 kg (or more), designed for industrial applications, large-scale manufacturing, and shipping container moisture control.
  • Drums: Rigid containers offering protection against physical and environmental damage for the desiccant; typically used for storing and transporting large quantities of desiccant in controlled quantities.
  • Tins: Smaller than drums, pails are convenient for applications requiring moderate amounts of desiccant; they are easily handled and stored.

  • Electronics: Protects sensitive components from moisture-induced damage and corrosion.
  • Food and Pharmaceuticals: Maintains the integrity of products by controlling humidity and preventing spoilage.
  • Metal Parts and Machinery: Prevents rust and corrosion during storage and transit.
  • Textiles and Leather Goods: Keeps products dry, preserving quality and preventing mold and mildew.
  • Packaging: Ideal for use in shipping containers, boxes, and crates to safeguard products from moisture.
  1. Select the appropriate amount by evaluating the volume of the space or the packaging size required to protect from moisture.
  2. Consider the specific moisture sensitivity of the items being protected to calculate the required amount of desiccant.
  3. Choose the granule size based on the application. Fine granules are suited for compact spaces or delicate products, while coarse granules are better for larger areas or bulk applications.
  4. Place the desiccant inside the packaging before sealing. Ensure it’s positioned in a way that allows for maximum exposure to air.
  5. Seal the packaging to create a moisture-controlled environment.
  6. Monitor and replace as necessary, depending on the length of storage or shipment and the conditions encountered.
  7. Dispose or reuse according to local regulations. Being environmentally safe, activated clay desiccant is often non-hazardous waste.
