The ShockLog® 248 is designed to monitor and record impact and environmental conditions for any structure or equipment throughout use, transit, and storage. When an unacceptable condition that might affect the performance or safety of shipment occurs, the ShockLog® 248 alerts the users for immediate inspection and remediation before the shipment is received. This helps to prevent mishandling by increasing accountability throughout the journey. It can provide peak value (time slot) and a summary of period journey profile data of monitored impact and internal temperature. The device can also record detailed impact curves of up to 15 events (featuring the first and 14 most severe events), and its event summary log can maintain up to 128 event notifications and 262,000 time slots.
Users can set up, access, and download data via USB or iButton® interface. An overview of the records can also be obtained through the interface while keeping the unit secure and tamperproof. The USB port allows users to retrieve full data and have complete programming control over the device. The software of the ShockLog® 248 also enables users to export data into programs such as Excel for analysis. Available in 3 impact scale ranges, 10G, 30G, and 100G, the ShockLog® 248 is best suited for applications that involve water treatment, electronics, automotive parts, logistics, transportation (e.g. cranes, rail cars, trucking fleets), medical devices and supplies as well as packaging and crating. For usage, the ShockLog 248 is to be put on structures and goods so as to monitor the impact and temperature conditions, allowing the user to receive alerts for inspection and remediation when the goods arrive at the next stop.
