VCI TRANSIT COATINGS

VCI Transit Coatings

VCI Transit Coatings are Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) Liquids with a unique blend of corrosion inhibitors to protect metal and most painted surfaces from rusting and corrosion during transit. When applied, the VCI Transit Coatings act as a protective barrier against seawater, acid rain, insects, bird droppings, smoke, pollution, dirt and debris. Now more than ever, large equipment manufacturers need ways to protect their products from factory to delivery. The shift away from heavy, environmentally damaging coatings means metal surfaces are increasingly vulnerable to corrosion. Improperly protected hose fittings and connectors, for example, are now exposed to corrosion-causing conditions, especially during export.

Nox-Rust 1150

The Nox-Rust 1150 is a solvent-free, self-healing, non-drying and removable rust inhibitor coating designed to protect unpainted machinery in shipping crates without smearing or waiting for its cure. The Nox-Rust 1150 ensures exposed metals are free and protected from corrosion, allowing them to be packaged immediately, improving the speed of handling and reducing labour costs. The solvent-free, blue thixotropic coating sets up quickly, stays soft and grease-like and is self-healing. Corrosion protection can last up to 5 years indoors and two years outdoors. To remove the coating, use a pressure wash or wipe with a cloth in some applications. It is ideal for ferrous metal equipment and fabricated metals packed in wood crates, on pallets, corrugated, and other acidic packaging that can cause corrosion.

  • Protection Time: Up to 5 years indoors; 2 years outdoors, covered
  • Appearance: Blue, grease-like, thixotropic liquid
  • Metal Protection: Ferrous metal equipment and fabricated parts
  • Approvals: RoHS; CAT 1E4973
Nox-Rust 3100

The Nox-Rust 3100 is designed to protect metals stored outside that require 5+ years of protection. In salt fog testing, the most rigorous ASTM standard for measuring the effectiveness of corrosion protection, the Nox-Rust 3100, outlasted the competition. The results have shown that the Nox-Rust 3100 is the best choice for protecting equipment and machinery for shipments. The Nox-Rust 3100 can be handled after 3-6 hours and sets up in 12-24 hours. It can be removed by solvent-based thinners, vapour degreasing, or hot alkaline wash when required.

  • Protection Time: 5+ years indoor or outdoor covered; 2 years outdoor exposed
  • Appearance: Dry film is firm, amber/translucent
  • Metal Protection: Ferrous & non-ferrous metals
  • Approvals: OEM product; Manufactured to meet MIL-C-16173 Class 1 Grade 4
Nox-Rust 3100G

The Nox-Rust 3100G is a thickened version of the Nox-Rust 3100, featuring excellent corrosion protection features. The thicker consistency of the 3100G makes it capable of clinging to vertical surfaces, adhering to large, heavy, and vertical metal surfaces to provide an even layer of protection. The coating can be easily applied using spray or brush as it is ideal for outdoor equipment beneath a cover or tarp.
